Ampact Wedge Connectors
We develop and manufacture Wedge Utility Connectors which are designed around an engineering principle which we call as ‘Wedge Pressure Technology’. Field proven for more than 40 years, Wedge Pressure Technology has formed the basis for a complete family of connectors that outperforms other conventional connectors, resulting in ‘lowest life cycle cost’. Wedge Connectors (Boltless Connectors) overcomes the physical and electrical limitations of traditional compression or bolted connectors resulting in low technical losses and efficient & consistent current flow.

Transformer is a vital component of a distribution system. It has to deliver Reliable Power in a safe & efficient manner. However, 8% of the transformers installed worldwide fail on account of improper connector systems.
A conventional connector system used for LV cable connection, deploys crimping and tightening of the bolts. Over a period of time, it leads to a loose electrical contacts which causes sparks and hot spots. The contact resistance is high which adds to the losses of ailing utilities. The weight of the connector causes mechanical strains on the bushing of the transformer, leading to oil leakages.
Raychem’s Trafo connector is engineered to keep the contact resistance low for the lifetime of the transformer. Its lighter & pretty simple to install as it uses the modern shear bolt technology, hence avoiding the skill & tool dependent crimping methodology. It significantly increases the reliability of the transformer.

Low And Medium Voltage
LV-Aerial Bundled Conductor (LV ABC) System is an effective solution offered by Raychem which prevents theft by direct tapping, the most basic method of stealing electricity. Raychem was one of the first to pioneer the connection, anchoring and suspension of low-voltage insulated overhead systems. Our continuous efforts in research and development have led to state-of-the-art product lines, that meet the demands of modern network design, operation and maintenance. Our products are successfully employed by utilities around the world including artic, desert and tropical climatic extremes. High Voltage Connections System (HVCS)
Our “1200 kV” design of connectors has been in successful operation in Powergrid
Corporation of India (PGCIL) at their 1200 kV trial substation in Bina, Madhya Pradesh since February 2012. These connectors are equipped with either HDG or Stainless steel fasteners. This further strengthens our hold in the 1200 kV segment. They meet the IS and NEMA standards for substation connectors.
HVDC applications need products able to meet specific requirements. Our experience in this field drove us to develop universal clamps designed for the most demanding connecting functions. Our wide range of products allows us to satisfy any HVDC project with all necessary engineering and testing support.
Our “Anti-Corona” range includes a large selection of aluminium alloy, high-grade clamps and connectors for any substation application up to 420kV using aluminium conductors / tubes. These connectors are equipped with either HDG or Stainless steel fasteners. They meet the IS and NEMA standards for substation connectors.
Our wide range of Spacers (Flexible & Rigid) completes our product series with jumpers and down-lead spacers complying with any applicable standard. They can also be used with any aluminium conductor with any type of configurations like Twin, Triple, Quad, Hexa or Octa and for voltages upto 1200 kV.
Insulator string components complete our product range for substation applications from 12 to 1200kV.This product range allows connection from HV transmission lines to the substation and includes steel hardware, different types of Suspension Clamps & Bolted Type Tension (Strain) Clamps.
Our “800kV” design has been the choice of the most demanding utilities in the world whose aim is to secure their grid with high quality products and continuous engineering support. These connectors are installed in substations where working conditions are extreme (ice, high humidity, high temperature, earthquake…) proving their high-reliability level. These connectors are equipped with either HDG or Stainless steel fasteners. These products meet IS and NEMA standards for substation connectors.
Earthing of the shield wires to the towers is realized by our complete range of connectors and accessories including Tension Clamp Assemblies, PG clamps, Pad clamp, lugs, etc.
